

BJ is a renowned multi-instrumentalist and music educator based in Merced, CA, known for his versatility across performance and teaching. As an active freelance musician, he has performed with a range of chamber groups, contemporary ensembles, and local orchestras throughout the Central Valley, appearing in both formal concert settings and community-driven performances. His work spans classical repertoire to modern collaborations, reflecting a commitment to both tradition and accessibility in live music.
Alongside his performing career, BJ maintains a strong presence as a dedicated teacher, having worked with students across private studios, public schools, and youth programs in the region. BJ currently teaches marching band and percussion at Hoover Middle School and offers private lessons at Ingram's Music Center.
His 27 years of experience includes K–12 classroom instruction, award-winning marching arts direction, private lessons through local music centers, and group instruction in community and church settings.
